As part of our work developing computing systems for people to use, we will conduct studies of human behavior. These studies are classified in the same manner as other studies involving human subjects. Like other research institutions, our university has an Institional Review Board (IRB) that must approve all study plans. The reason for this is to insure that human subjects are treated in an ethical and humane way.
Go to the IRB website. Take the required training. Submit the form of completion in class.
Due Thursday 2/4.
This is also the same place that you will get the Application for the Use of Human Subjects in Research form, which you will use to describe your studies as a prelude to future user study deliverables.
